Το European Environmental Bureau (EEB) και τα μέλη του Seas at Risk, Ελληνική Εταιρεία Περιβάλλοντος και Πολιτισμού, Δίκτυο ΜΕΣΟΓΕΙΟΣ SOS και ECOCITY διοργανώνουν συνέδριο με θέμα: «Μπορεί η Γαλάζια Ανάπτυξη να γίνει πράσινη;» την Τρίτη 3 Ιουνίου και ώρα 8.30 π.μ. στο Νέο Συνεδριακό Αμφιθέατρο του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, δίπλα στο Γεωργικό Μουσείο (Ιερά Οδός 75, Βοτανικός).
Με αφορμή την 40η επέτειο από την ίδρυση του European Environmental Bureau (ΕΕΒ), το συνέδριο θα επικεντρώσει στην έννοια και τις προοπτικές της Γαλάζιας Ανάπτυξης, που αποτελεί μία από τις βασικές στρατηγικές και κατευθυντήριο άξονα για την εξέλιξη του θαλάσσιου και ναυτιλιακού τομέα της ΕΕ.
Πρωταρχικός στόχος της εκδήλωσης είναι η ανάδειξη της Στρατηγικής της Γαλάζιας Ανάπτυξης, η οποία αποσκοπεί στην προώθηση της γαλάζιας οικονομίας ως σημαντικής παραμέτρου στα προγράμματα των κρατών μελών, των περιφερειών, των επιχειρήσεων και της κοινωνίας των πολιτών, προκειμένου να διερευνηθούν οι δυνατότητες βιώσιμης πραγμάτωσής της μέσα από κατάλληλες μεθοδολογίες και εργαλεία. Παράλληλα, στο πλαίσιο του συνεδρίου, θα διαμορφωθεί πλατφόρμα διαλόγου και ανοιχτών συζητήσεων στην οποία θα εισφέρουν τις απόψεις τους μέλη της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, Μη Κυβερνητικών Οργανώσεων και της επιστημονικής κοινότητας, καθώς και άλλοι θεσμικοί φορείς.
Ειδικότερα οι εργασίες του συνεδρίου θα ασχοληθούν με την υλοποίηση της Θαλάσσιας Στρατηγικής σε ευρωπαϊκό αλλά και ειδικότερο περιφερειακό και τοπικό επίπεδο (Μεσόγειος & Βαλτική), τις προκλήσεις και τη διεθνή εμπειρία στο πεδίο της ναυσιπλοΐας και των λιμένων, τους κινδύνους που ελλοχεύουν από την εκμετάλλευση των υποθαλάσσιων ενεργειακών κοιτασμάτων και τέλος τις δυνατότητες βιωσιμότητας στους κλάδους της αλιείας και του παράκτιου τουρισμού.
Η εκδήλωση θα είναι ανοιχτή για το κοινό.
